small bird blessed upon the garden wall
calls your name, mine also.
in the morning’s yellow light
the snow has thawed.
you say goodbye,
the bird hello,
a chyak-chyak call,
through winter’s hold we wait.

Here you are again between the night and the razor blade;
The unconscious beating brain bargaining with the morning.
Your hands are so empty they may as well be called space,
They are clawing at the pillow beside you in the early rays.
No haste in waking, yet knowing the time is now you pace
The bedroom floor, the bathroom shower haze.
And it all adds up to nothing ventured nothing faced;
The ticking clock counts down the days
To where you would run in the meadows changed
From this earthly flesh into something blessed with grace.

Tip out every last drop of me
Fill me up with you.
Take my name and cast it out
Upon your great seas.
For I am nothing but blue.
Dissolve my want and needs,
Evaporate them in your sun;
Shine in my heart today
And in the hearts of everyone.

In the fields darkness falls
The cawing crow calls the moon
Alive with elation dreams.
Gone all too soon
The dance of the wind
Before we begin
To reach the temple;
Where love is blooming
In the shadows
By the alter
Inside my soul.
She worships you
Long and whole
Billowing bright
She bridges the night,
Calling the song of the sea.
Love was named after thee,
A whisper of dew on the flesh
Weaves through my heart.
Mountain springs well within,
Overflowing the tributaries
Flooding tears begin;
And rain, sweet rain.
Words cannot describe
The tender way I will hold you,
Hold you forever through life.

It’s late in the day and the sun is nodding,
The moon is waking for her day.
Somewhere my baby’s plane is flying home.
And I am here, soft wind blowing gently on my hands.
In my eyes memory’s pass like shadows across the sun.
I remember all those days we swore our hearts would run,
And as long as I have breath within me, you will see the Love
I hold in my heart for you till Kingdom come.
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come,
The song keeps playing on.
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come,
Together our hearts will run
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come one day.
Oh marry me in the golden woods, won’t you take my to life to stay.
See my love lay down for you each and everyday.
And every night I’ll hold you near, as close as flesh will allow.
Yet deeper still our souls will sing aloud
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come,
The song keeps playing on.
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come,
Together our hearts will run
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come one day.
That day is coming across the hills untethered on the breeze.
I see her dance beneath the moon drifting through the leaves.
For just one touch, a single kiss awaken my heart for thee,
And together two will forever become one.
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come,
The song keeps playing on.
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come,
Together our hearts will run
To Kingdom come,
To Kingdom come today.
It’s late in the day and the sun is nodding,
The moon is waking for her day.
Somewhere my baby’s plane is flying home.

She whispered on the wind her sweet knowing
That they would always be in love no matter what life threw at them.
God knows it had driven her to her knees so many times
And he himself had been broken by it.
Yet he had made a sacred vow inside his heart a long time ago,
That he would love her and protect her no matter what.
For he was her Prince and her Knight, and she his Queen.

Time is a mystery
For we create the ticking hands
That turn the world
And spin the silver stars
To guide the seas to start.
Nothing exists except this second here,
And all that’s in our hearts.

You are the breezes of my heart,
You are my heart that sings the breeze
To catch the song of morning birds,
The circle now complete.
The way you edge the nighttime tune,
And move along the starlight rhyme,
For you I give my all to say
You my sacred time.
That with which I spend my worth,
All the gold there is on earth
To ebb the essence of truest you
Forever green and blue.
And what is true in all things you,
Is me and you together,
For as you say no one can falter
When love is true forever.
Now underneath the tree we kiss
In the midst of falling leaves,
And know right here the truest tryst,
The circle now complete.

one day, by the sea, we shall sit like this,
half-asleep with coffee kisses and warm hugs,
looking out upon the earth’s wide wonder,
out there over yonder, over the great green abyss
and bless all our clumsy missteps,
and the roads not taken.
for if i’m not mistaken we have awakened in the shade
of the sycamore’s golden curls
blessed in the light of love.

A glass of red wine has a certain opulence,
A deep swimming sophistication.
Sweet berries bright and bold
Fermented and full in the vessel.
Like a heart of love spilt fresh upon the snow,
She sings the song of lovebirds
Beckoning her lover inside.
A sip at her lips, an offering of beauty
Surrendering to the dawn.
The morning of haze in the eyes
And Love in the heart.
